Lhasa Area constitutes Lhasa city and eight surrounding counties. It is the centre of Tibetan culture and capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. Many notable scenery spots of Tibet are concentrated in Lhasa Area, including The Potala Palace, The Jokhang Temple, The Drepung Monastery, and The Barkhor Street etc. A lot of foreign tourists select Lhasa Area only to have a look for Lhasa representing Tibet. However, quite a few people do not think so. To go other places outside Lhasa is unadvisable for those tourists having strong altitude sickness symptom.
